The Federal Science & Research Council (FSRC) is the national Nouvelle Alexandrie research council, responsible for research funding. It funds thousands of researchers at universities and institutes and aids in steering the course of Alexandrian science by means of subsidies and research programmes. The FSRC possesses multiple institutes itself. Responsibility for the operations of the FSRC is within the portfolio of the Department of Research and Development.

It was founded as the Federal Science Council in 1690 AN, combining the research councils of Alduria and Wechua Nation. It is headquartered in Cárdenas. It gained its current name in 1711 AN under the Grand Institutes of Education Act.

Organization

Domains

The FSRC is divided into domains, which organise the research programmes and funding. The Executive Board and the Domain Boards both have the competence to allocate public funding for scientific research. The domains are:

  • Domain Exact and Natural Sciences (CEN)
  • Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences (CAI)
  • Domain Social Sciences and Humanities (CSH)
  • Domain Health Research and Development (IDS)

The FSRC Global Research Development & Cooperation (DCIG) is a domain-intersecting initiative.

FSRC-I

The FSRC-I is the Institutes Organisation of FSRC, working closely with the Domains, and encompassing 12 institutes. The FSRC-I Office supports all institutes.

  • Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (IFAM)
  • Advanced Research Center for Nanolithography (CIAN)
  • Federal Institute for Radio Astronomy (IFR)
  • Center for Mathematics & Informatics (CMI)
  • Federal Institute for Fundamental Energy Research (IFIEF)
  • National Institute for Subatomic physics (INFS)
  • Federal Institute of Marine Research (IFIM)
  • Federal Crime and Forensics Science Institute (IFCFC)
  • Federal Institute for Space Science (IFCE)
  • Federal Institute of Earth Sciences (IFCT)
  • Center for Advanced Computing Research (CICA)
  • National Hadron Collider Facility (INCH)
  • Superconducting Super Collider (SSC)

Task Forces

The FSRC has the competence to establish Temporary Task Forces (TTF). They collaborate with industrial experts to accelerate the development of technologies, and on the solving of fundamental scientific issues and questions. Currently, there are four TTFs.

  • Federal Initiative for Brain and Cognition Research (IFICC)
  • Taskforce for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (GIAAA)
  • Taskforce for Education Research (GIE)
  • Federal Initiative for Fundamental Matter Research (IFIMF)
