FMRL World Cup Project 2018

The FMRL World Cup Project 2018 is a joint initiative between the Florian government and the FRFL, for the planning of the 2018 edition of FMRL World Cup. The Project started in 2017 after the Florian Republic was awarded hosting rights for the 2018 FMRL World Cup. This will be the first time that the Florian Republic hosts an international sports competition.

Plans

The Florian Republic plans to use eight stadiums for the 2018 FMRL World Cup held between 7 cities. The FRFL has set out requirements for each stadium to host a game in each round. All stadiums will host a group match/Playoff round match but the FMRL have confirmed that the City of Blackoak Stadium (Queens' Press Stadium for sponsorship reasons) will host both the Semi-Finals and Final. Two stadiums will host the Elimination Quarter-Finals/Quarter-Finals.

At the time FMRL World Cup Project 2018, was announced. All stadiums fit requirements except the City of Blackoak which did not have a high enough capacity. Therefore the stadium is being renovated to fit the criteria for the semi-finals and Final.

Team Bases

All teams which qualify for the tournament will given a team base. Each team base will include 5-star accomodation and will include gyms and spas. In addition a local Florian club will provide their training facilities to them. Except the Florian team who will still be based in the National Sports Centre.

They will be 44 matches in total.They will 32 Group Stage matches,2 Playoff matches,4 Quarter-Final matches,Two Repecharge Round matches,2 Semi-Finals and a final.

Festival of World Cups

For the first time, a Festival of World Cups is being planned by the FRFL. In this festival, they will be editions of the tournament for the Armed Forces, Police Forces and University students on Micras. If there is enough interest, the first Women's Worl Cup will be hosted. Each tournament will feature six teams, with all of them being invited to the event. Matches will be played at 'The Jungle' and Panthers Arena.

For the tournament. The FRFL created a new tournament logo. This was to increase promotion and awareness of the event.
