Official designation ESM-28, designed and produced by the Gaelen Technologies Corporation, the ESM-28 "Coraniaid" were miniaturised seismic, atmospheric, and electromagnetic sensor probes that were combined with proximity, pressure and tamper fuses connected to 5.5 kilograms of TNT.

Entering mass production in 1658 the Coraniaids were supplied to the Imperial Forces in Mishalan for deployment via parachute canister into the Inner-Benacian Quarantine Zone, known colloquially as "The Green", in an effort to simultaneously map and inhibit the extensive Tee-al ranges that menaced the borders of the Imperial Republic.

Retained in use as the primary air-deployed remote sensor suite of the Raspur Pact.

A waterproofed version of the Coraniaid was first employed against a rebel occupied harbour on the Isle of Benacia in 1684 AN.
