Cornouaille

Kernevonia, or more rarely, Varja-Walsch, is the name given to the area where the Kernevons predominantly live. Kernevonians are the majority in two lordships, Casse glace and Lunhavre. They are also concentrated in the villages north of Quimper and north of Hivernot. The permafrost territories of Casse-glace are now inhabited by Reindeer Herders, so the region is no longer included in the minimalist Kernevonia. Furthermore, exaggerated maps include all of Quimper, Hivernot, and Old Gaol Isle. The Kernevonians are of Celtic origin, while the Normans are described as Alexanderized Norse. Therefore, the origins of the Kernevons and the Normans are not the same.
Kernevonia's history is quite ancient. The Kernevonian settlement dates back to the 6th century, and the Kernevonians came under medieval influence in the 1400s. The Kernevonians and the Normans never fully agreed on the region. During the Storish period, the Kernevons were completely included within the Norman census. After the fall of Stormark in 1685 AN, they began establishing their own separate lordships. The Hexarchian period and the Second Green Period had a significant negative impact on the region. The Kernevonians sided with the Norman Revolt Army in 1744 AN, and Kernevonia was pacified. However, the occupation of East and North Normandie in 1745 AN was quite devastating for Kernevonia. Kernevonia was subsequently pacified again in early 1746 AN. In the post-war period, the Kernevonians gained some territorial rights, but these were quite limited.
Kernevian separatists continued to campaign in the region from time to time, but were repelled by the Norman authorities. Normandie opposed Kernevonia's attempts to establish a separate realm and could impose severe prison sentences. Furthermore, there was a minority but vocal group in the region that aimed to reestablish Varja and eliminate Normandie entirely.
