Initially established in 1744 AN to produce spare parts for military vehicles, the factory was initially located in Quimper and, over time, became quite proficient in spare parts production. After the war, the factory began producing heavy-duty commercial vehicles. R&D efforts, which began in 1746 AN, culminated in the first vehicles rolling off the assembly line in early 1749 AN. The factory is considered a pioneer of the First Five-Year Development Plan of the Normandie.
History
Foundation
Norman Motor Company is located in the Douet-Neuf district of Quimper, where major factories are located. The factory rolls out 18,000 vehicles annually and offers three different models. These vehicles are entirely Szisu vehicles, and CAN manufactures them in Normandie under its own brand. The Rouen model is electric, the Cotentin model hydrogen-powered, and the Angevin model diesel-powered. The Angevin model is more fuel efficient than its main model in Szisu.
CAN manufactures its vehicles with support from the Quimper Technical Sciences Insutite and the University of Quimper. Technology companies in Normandie also provide parts for the company. The company's president is Guillaume de Lorne, who also serves as CEO of K&R Holding. The company also receives significant support from Theodoric van Orton.
