Citadel J-V

Citadel J-V is a star-shaped fortress that serves as the barracks for three regiments of light cavalry from the Benacian Union Defence Force. The Citadel is located in the county of East Caverden on the border with Shireroth, an area known for its economic underdevelopment, heavy forests, and quasi-feudal society. It is also under threat of attack from rebellious clans of Laqs who do not respect the border.

The condition of the roads in the area is poor, and brigands are known to be active in the countryside. As a result, the Citadel has a helipad to facilitate the delivery of supplies. This is particularly important for the 6th (Electrical & Mechanical) Support Regiment of the Ransenari Grouping of Forces, which is also stationed at the Citadel.

The kossar light cavalry regiments garrisoned at the Citadel between 1713 and 1717 were known for their speed and agility on the battlefield, making them well-suited to the rugged terrain and the threat of attack from the Laqs. The three regiments of registered Kossars were however withdrawn for deployment in Kalgachia as part of Operation Penitent. The 6th (Electrical & Mechanical) Support Regiment provides crucial support for the cavalry, helping to maintain and repair their equipment and vehicles.

Despite the challenges posed by the environment and the threat of attack, the soldiers at Citadel J-V remain dedicated to protecting the border and defending the people of the Benacian Union.

The Ransenari Commissariat Corps, the Land Forces Commissariat of the Benacian Union Defence Force, and the Commissariat Bureau of the Benacian Continental Theater Command are responsible for providing the supplies necessary to support the garrison at Citadel J-V and other frontier fortresses like it. This includes ensuring that the garrison receives the 600 metric tons of food, fuel, and fodder it needs each month.

In addition to their other duties, the soldiers at Citadel J-V are also responsible for escorting supply convoys and requisitioning parties to ensure the continued survival of the garrison. This is a critical part of their patrol duties, as the fortress relies heavily on these supplies for its own sustainability.
