Central Committee for Security and Defence

The Central Committee for Security and Defence (CCSD), was that portion of the Supreme Council of the Union granted the authority over the defence of Zeed from foreign and domestic threats during the period of revolutionary rule. The Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Popular Mobilisation Brigades, and the Committees of Public Safety in the regions and localities, including within the autonomous republics, were all subject to the direct command, control, and oversight of the CCSD.

The CCSD is subdivided into two subordinate directorates, these being:

The directorates are supervised by an undersecretary appointed by the First Secretary. The First Secretary and the three undersecretaries together constitute the Troika, charged with strategic level defence and security planning. The Troika is in turn supported by the General Secretariat for Security and Defence, a centralised executive agency which provides for the administrative, disciplinary, and internal-security needs of the CCSD.
