Cajamarca Tunnel

The Cajamarca Tunnel is a railway tunnel in the Wechua Nation, a region of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. It carries the Keltian Bulk Line through the highland ranges immediately west of Cajamarca, the line's eastern terminus.

The tunnel runs roughly 6.4 kilometers through the mountains west of Cajamarca and is the final major engineering feature on the Keltian Bulk Line before its terminus in the city. It carries freight and passenger traffic between the eastern highlands and Parap and the western cities of the Federation in Keltia. Its highland setting and length make it the principal chokepoint on the eastern reach of the line. A section near the eastern portal collapsed in the 1757 Cajamarca micrasquake, closing the line. Under the reconstruction program, an engineering train made the first complete passage of the repaired bore on 18.XII.1759 AN, but the tunnel remained closed to commercial service pending commissioning and load testing expected in early 1760 AN.[1]
