Tittle-tattle about the district

While the Khanum Miggins' pie shop and tearooms have become a beloved establishment in the Blackfriars District of Tiegang, it is true that there exists a rivalry between Khanum Miggins and Mei Ling al-Osman, stemming from the seedy reputation associated with the Jade Lotus Harem Club.

The Khanum, known for her traditional values and commitment to maintaining a wholesome atmosphere in her establishment, views the Jade Lotus Harem Club with skepticism. The club's association with a luxurious and exclusive entertainment experience, particularly its harem of courtesans, has raised eyebrows and concerns within the community.

As an upstanding businesswoman, the Khanum believes in conducting her affairs with integrity and providing a family-friendly environment. She prides herself on the quality of her pies and the warm, welcoming atmosphere of her tearooms. In contrast, the presence of the Jade Lotus Harem Club, with its questionable activities, challenges the values and reputation the Khanum has built over the years.

The Khanum has expressed her concerns publicly, voicing reservations about the impact such a establishment may have on the community's moral fabric. She fears that the seedy reputation of the Jade Lotus Harem Club may tarnish the Blackfriars District's image and attract undesirable elements to the area.

While Mei Ling al-Osman may not be directly responsible for the club's reputation, the Khanum sees her as a key figure associated with its operations. This perception has fueled the rivalry between them. The Khanum perceives Mei Ling as someone who compromises ethical standards in pursuit of personal gain and success, which stands in contrast to the Khanum's own principles.

As a result, the Khanum Miggins' pie shop and tearooms have become a symbol of traditional values and wholesome entertainment, offering an alternative to the Jade Lotus Harem Club. This rivalry adds an intriguing dynamic to the Blackfriars District, as the community members align themselves with either establishment based on their own beliefs and preferences.
