Béthencourt (Hurmu Norse: Betenkoor) is a city located west of the Ortonia region of Normandie. It is located ten kilometers southwest of the Béthencourt Dam, a semi-natural dam. Béthencourt is the second largest city in Normandie. Béthencourt is home to numerous industrial factories and is also known for its famous beef and venison.
History
Béthencourt was founded in 1626 AN, following the last expansion of the Normadie Jarldom. It is a relatively new town, and before that, the area had been uninhabited for a long time. Development of Béthencourt was limited until 1685. After the collapse of Stormark, the area remained uninhabited for a long time. In 1727 AN, Hurmu annexed the region, but for unknown reasons the region was returned to the green in 1744 AN.
The town was incorporated into the Orton Line in 1743 AN. During the first phase of the Purification ov Normandie, the city was liberated by Ortonist militants and used as a regional base. Béthencourt's manpower was severely strained by the influx of refugees. After the war, the refugee camps were moved further out of town, and reconstruction began again. By 1750 AN, the city was quite organized and even had a short-distance tram line. Tram lines are under constant development.
Landmarks
Béthencourt has two must-see attractions: Béthencourt Castle and the Basilica.
