The Anthem Conflict was a diplomatic conflict between the governments of the Kingdom of Krasnocoria and the Florian Republic over the alleged Krasnocorian accusations of the Florians stealing the certain melodies for their anthem of the song of the Krasnocorian composer Đorđe Jović, which later became the anthem of Krasnocoria.
Background
The Kingdom of Krasnocoria was founded on 24 June 2018, by the merge of Kingdom of Coria and Krasnarus. A week earlier, the various musical composers were called up in Grandbay with their ideas of the anthem of the future united Krasnocorian state. The Corian King Jovan I, with the support of the Ministries of Culture of both merging sides, decided upon the composition of the young composer Đorđe Jović, named "Bože Pravde/Боже Правде" (English: God of Justice).
Both sides were, broadly speaking, aware that their anthems had exact same melody in certain parts, however it mostly didn't attract significant attraction in the wide masses. There were occasions of Krasnocorian sports fans booing the Florian anthem because of the same reason, with chanting "Thiefs!".
Conflict
On August 25, 2019, the Krasnocorian Ministry of Culture issued a statement declaring that while they had been tolerating the Florian anthem to this day, it was time for them to cease doing so. The Florian anthem, according to the statement, “strikes the pride of every Krasnocorian” and “should be changed as soon as possible.” The Florian administration responded by asserting that any change to the anthem would require a referendum, not by force. However, they later clarified that the Florian Republic would not change its anthem under any circumstances and condemned the Krasnocorian government as foolish and pathetic for threatening war over the matter. Despite this, with the ongoing 2019 MHL Junior World Championships held in Floria, the government decided to refrain from playing the national anthem until the issue was resolved. Later that day, the Krasnocorian King Jovan I convened an emergency session of the Security Council of Krasnocoria, comprising the highest officials of the Krasnocorian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.
