The city of Alpreaux is the former capital and largest city of Lac Glacei (the current being Monte Glacei). It is Lac Glacei's oldest city, founded by Emperor Jacobus when the United Imperium was first established. The city has gone through several iterations, having been destroyed and rebuilt several times. Although the Grand Duke maintains a Summer Palace in Alpreaux, the capital of the grand duchy was moved to Monte Glacei to provide a more centralized location during the Grand Era.

Alpreaux is also considered the home city of the Alpinist Religion.
