Aleksander Wilhelm III was Emperor of the United Empire of Landingberg-Schoninreich 1521–1547. When the Senate of the Lakes was called into session in 1522, he assumed his grandfather Emperor Tyler-Alexander of Landingberg's seat. Busy with the affairs of state of the United Empire, he felt it was imperative his seat was represented by someone who could devote more time to it, and as such he resigned it in favour of his cousin-once-removed, King Karl Gustav of Nidaros.
