The 1755 general election saw Axikakan, formerly the Workers' Revolutionary Front, win a large majority under the new first-past-the-post electoral system. With 359 seats Axikakan was only 38 seats short of a two-thirds supermajority. After the entire opposition united behind the Sanaman People's Party, it won 203 seats and, together with several small regional parties, make up the opposition in the Lhusan Nasyonal. Axikakan had also before the election absorbed all other parties in the political left.
