1711 United Nationalist Alliance headquarters raid
At 8:00 on 9.VII.1711, officers from the Kalisa Lanyitali financial crimes unit, accompanied by investigators from the National Revenue Service and the Bureau of the Inquisitor General, raided the Semisa City headquarters of the United Nationalist Alliance. The rationale for the raid was an ongoing investigation into possible fraud, embezzlement and corruption perpetrated by senior representatives in the party between 1679 and 1701, when reelected party leader Keysa Nur Pinito Caprici served as president and later Chancellor of Sanama. The raid was met with massive criticism from the political right, with representatives from the UNA calling it a "political maneuver", a spokesperson for the Agrarian League labeling it "a sham", and Amala Kuyani of the Sanaman People's Party calling for a parliamentary investigation into possible political influences on the Kalisa Lanyitali. In a response, the Minister of State for Public Safety and Security Shana Puniso vehemently denied any political involvement, instead maintaining that the agencies involved were acting independently and that herself and her staff steered clear of criminal investigations.
