The Decree in Whales on the Plantation of Nieuw Rotterdam (D-1706-001) is a decree by Daniyal ibn Daniyal, in his capacity as Prince of Whales, issued on 24.XIII.1706 AN.

The plantation and the rights and liberties established under this decree were subsequently purchased by Sankt Ludwigshafen in early 1709 AN.

Text

  1. Subject to such laws as which require a knowledgement, there shall be established at Nieuw Rotterdam a company under charter for the purpose of the general settlement and restoration of the settlement.
  2. The company and the settlement shall be, until such time as it is brought into the Bovic Natopian Empire as a Lordship of Whales, under the authority of a Captain-General appointed by the Prince of Whales and a ten-man board of control appointed from nominees elected by the shareholders of the company.
  3. One hundred shares shall be bestowed upon the company, with the ownership divided thusly:
    1. Fifty shares shall be retained by the Prince;
    2. Twenty-five shares shall be placed with the ESB Group (Cibola);
    3. Ten shares shall be placed with the Elian Trading Company (Whales);
    4. Ten shares shall be placed with the Transegale Trading Company;
    5. The remaining five shares shall be offered for sale at the trading house of Walstadt.
  4. Each year the Captain-General of Nieuw Rotterdam shall make a tribute payment of ten percent of the yearly revenue of company, and ten captives such as like are to be pleasing, to the Prince.
  5. The Captain-General and the company shall operate at the pleasure of the Prince until such time as he shall decree otherwise.
