Vizier us-Shura (1737 - 1745 AN) Grand Vizier of Çakaristan (1745 - 1753 AN) |
Şahin Faris (born 1697, aged 65) was the Grand Vizier of Çakaristan from 1745 AN to 1753 AN, succeeding Mazyar Behdad and preceding Talal Sayfasad. Once hailed as "The Falcon of Jaaguzanbul" for his strategic brilliance, he fell from grace after a controversial foreign policy decision that cost him the trust of the Shahanshah.
Born in the coastal city of Jaaguzanbul, Şahin Faris rose through the ranks of the Çakari bureaucracy, mastering both administrative traditions and military logistics. He served as Vizier us-Shura (Privy Counsellor) under Mazyar Behdad before being elevated to Grand Vizier in 1745 AN. In 1746 AN, he was appointed Commander of the Order of Ash and Elm, cementing his status as one of the most significant men in the realm.
His tenure was marked by internal reforms and the centralization of court power — but also by the fateful decision to extend military support to The Hexarchy. When this support appeared to pave the way for the annexation of Hexarian Karnak, the Shahanshah — fearing good relations with other powers in the region — dismissed Şahin Faris in 1753 AN. He was replaced by Talal Sayfasad. After his dismissal, he was remembered as "The Fallen Vizier".
