The Nivelle Mutiny was an infamous mutiny during the summer of 1656 AN at the northern Dalmacijan front during the War of Lost Brothers. Morale in the trenches had reached an all time low among the (mainly Kildarian) reserves. The Dalmacijan Campaign, which had almost seen the loss of the city of Yuanbeicheng, had shown the weaknesses of the Imperial Armed Forces. Among leftist movements, silent protests began to change towards open rebellion. Rousing speeches in name of Yamato Wei were spread among the men, while Wei claimed to have nothing to do with it.

Corporal Nivelle, a Kildarian officer, who had refused to join a charge on the Natopian lines, was shot for treason. This move enraged many within Nivelles former division. Around 3,784 soldiers were arrested and shot in the following week, while Headquarters halted any dangerous military operations in the upcoming few months.

The mutiny indirectly led to an improvement of living conditions of the soldiers, as more experienced officers took over after the Florian campaign had come to an end.
