The League Against Professional Sports was a Shirerithian grass-roots campaign against the overwhelming cultural and economic predominance of professional sports and their disproportionate appeal to and influence upon the working classes of the Imperial Republic during a time of global conflict and domestic turmoil.

The League sought to draw attention to the corrosive effect Football supposedly had on civic virtues.
