The Imperial Academy of Aviation is a military academy responsible for supplying the Imperial Constancian Armed Forces, as well as the Trans-Euran Command of the Raspur Pact, with military pilots, aeronautical engineers, air traffic and air defence controllers.

History

The Academy traced its origins back to the First Euran War of 1636 AN, when the University of Vey announced the formation of a student militia and the creation of the University Air Squadron (Iptámeno Panepistímio Moíra), a collection of jet prototypes and donated civilian aircraft which would be converted to provide close air support for the Army and Home Guard.

The Academy would be re-established at Asterapolis following the Second Euran War. The University Air Squadron, reconstituted as a subordinate unit of the Academy, would continue to be the main vector by which student aviators, mostly drawn from the families of the wellborn, would be inducted into the Air Force.

Beginning in 1708 AN, the Academy would receive commissioned officers from the Madrese-ye Nezām in Raspur for a four year course in their designated roles. Enlisted personnel would be rotated through the Academy on eighteen month technical training courses sponsored by their parent formations.
