The Federal Emergency and Defense Network (FEDNET) is a centralized government communication and coordination system established in 1740 AN in Nouvelle Alexandrie. Developed as a critical component of the National Infrastructure Renewal Program (NIRP), FEDNET is designed to enhance the Federation’s capacity to respond to emergencies, coordinate defense operations, and ensure the continuity of government functions during crises.
FEDNET's creation was a direct response to vulnerabilities exposed during the Spring Crisis of 1739, particularly the disruptions to communication and coordination among federal, provincial, and local authorities. FEDNET integrates advanced digital platforms, quantum-resistant technology, and a nationwide infrastructure network to streamline real-time communication and improve crisis management.
Key Features
- Centralized Command Hub: Located in Cárdenas, with regional nodes in all provinces, FEDNET operates as the Federation’s nerve center for emergency management.
- Quantum-Resistant Infrastructure: Advanced encryption ensures data security against emerging cyber threats.
- Real-Time Alerts: Mobile applications and public broadcasting systems deliver instant updates to citizens during emergencies.
- Cross-Agency Collaboration: Integrated platforms allow federal, provincial, and municipal agencies to share data and resources effectively.
- Redundant Systems: Backup communication networks ensure functionality even during major disruptions.
Development and Implementation
The establishment of FEDNET was funded through an initial allocation of NAX€10 billion under the NIRP’s first-year budget. The project brought together experts from the Department of Defense, Department of Interior, and the Department of Research and Development.
FEDNET's phased implementation began in 1740 AN and includes:
- Phase 1 (1740): Deployment of secure communication nodes in Cárdenas and regional capitals.
- Phase 2 (1741): Integration of municipal agencies and expansion of mobile alert systems.
- Phase 3 (1742): Full operationalization, including public-facing tools and nationwide drills.
