Craitland–Order of the Holy Lakes relations
Relations between the Kingdom of Craitland and the Order of the Holy Lakes were formally established in 1689, during the period when the Order was represented by the Hurmu Trust Territory. A significant development occurred when the Craitish province of Lakkvia held a referendum on merging with the Hurmu Trust Territory to form Hurmu, resulting in a majority favouring unification. Subsequent negotiations led to the Vesüha Accords, which re-established Hurmu as an independent sovereign state.
Since then, relations between the two nations have been exceptionally friendly and warm. The Vesüha Accords govern their bilateral relations, facilitating free movement of people between the countries. Hurmu citizens in Craitland enjoy the same civil rights as Craitish citizens, and reciprocally, Craitish citizens in Hurmu are afforded the same rights as Hurmu citizens. Both countries are members of, and cooperate through, the Xäiville Convention.
Historically, Hurmu utilized the Craitish currency until 1705. In recognition of the their historic ties, Craitish monarchs hold the title King among the Lakes (or Queen among the Lakes) in Hurmu, and members of the Craitish royal family are members of the Order of the Holy Lakes.
