1674 Shireroth census

The 1674 Shireroth census was a census conducted in Regency-held territories of Shireroth. After the Kalirion Fracture, Shireroth had lost Elwynn, Goldshire, Malarboria, Modan, Yardistan, and its overseas territories. Shireroth was therefore reduced from twenty-one to four imperial dominions, and from 44 census divisions to ten. However, with the Imperial Regency's evacuation of Highpass and Shimmerspring (both in the Imperial Dominion of Modan), no census was conducted there. The census's completion in Monty Crisco was affected by the Revolutionary Army of Crisco's insurgency in the area.

Results

The census identified 67,744,134 residents or nationals of Shireroth, down from last census's 443,516,794 persons, of which 1,605,885 were citizens (i.e. belonging to the nobility) and 51,582,695 denizens (free persons, i.e. non-indentured).

By census division

In Shirerithian legislation anyone legally resident in Shireroth is a Shirerithian national and classed into one of five classes. The first class, citizens, constitute the nobility. The second class, denizens, constitute the free non-noble non-indentured population and majority of Shireroth. The next two classes, loyal subjects and community servants, are indentured servants with the difference of loyal subjects having more rights than than community servants. Community servants are regarded almost as property and a demotion to community servitude is often made in stead of a custodial sentence. Only nobles may own the care of loyal subjects and community servants, but often rent them out to agriculture and industry. The last class, protected person, is anyone who does not fit any of the other classes (mainly refugees and persons removed from the rest of society for their own or others' safety).
