Bill to Establish the Order of Ash and Elm
Whereas the Senate of the Lakes recognizes the need to honour individuals who have made significant contributions to the realms of the Order of the Holy Lakes
Be it enacted by the Senate of the Lakes of Hurmu:
Establishment of the Order of Ash and Elm
The Order of Ash and Elm is hereby established as an order of merit to recognize and honour individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the realms of the Order of the Holy Lakes.
Structure and Classes
The Order shall consist of three classes:
- Knight Commander of the Order of Ash and Elm (KCAE)
- Commander of the Order of Ash and Elm (CAE)
- Officer of the Order of Ash and Elm (OAE)
- Member of the Order of Ash and Elm (MAE)
Eligibility
The Order of Ash and Elm may be conferred upon citizens and other subjects of the Order of the Holy Lakes and foreign nationals who have made outstanding contributions to the nation in areas such as peace, public service, arts, sciences, industry, or humanitarian efforts.
Nomination and Selection
- Nominations for the Order may be submitted by members of the Senate, government officials, or citizens of Hurmu.
- A committee appointed by the Senate shall review nominations and make recommendations to the Chancellor.
- The Chancellor shall have final approval on all appointments to the Order.
Insignia and Regalia
- The insignia of the Order of Ash and Elm shall feature a medallion depicting intertwined ash and elm leaves, symbolizing strength and wisdom.
- The ribbon of the Order of Ash and Elm shall be green and silver, representing the forests and lakes of Hurmu.
- Members shall be entitled to wear the insignia appropriate to their class on formal occasions.
Privileges and Responsibilities
- Recipients of the Order of Ash and Elm shall not receive any monetary benefits or special legal status.
- Members are expected to continue serving as exemplary citizens and ambassadors of the values of the Brida.
Revocation
- The Senate reserves the right to revoke membership in the Order of Ash and Elm for actions that bring dishonour to the Order of Ash and Elm itself or to the Order of the Holy Lakes.
Implementation
- The Secretariat of the Order of the Holy Lakes shall establish an Office for the Order of Ash and Elm to manage the administrative aspects of the Order, including record-keeping and organization of investiture ceremonies.
