Prime Minister before election

Gisela Starck

Subsequent Prime Minister

Gisela Starck

The Lagerhuis elecions of 1701 AN were the first elections after Gisela Starck took office as prime minister. The elections were thus the test for its policy. The Conservative Monarchist Party had ruled absolutely for the past four years. Prior to the elections, the polls seemed to indicate a loss of seats, which would mean the loss of the majority position. But the gain of four seats for the Conservative Monarchist Party came as a surprise.
