County Tintagel (Old Steerish: Konteth Dintagel) is a county of the Kingdom of Riskai in Northern Feanoria. Established in 1723 AN, it is named after the town and castle of Tintagel on the western coast of the county.
History
The town of Tintagel was founded circa 1503 AN by the Kingdom of Celtica (subsequently the Eternal Realm of Dun Gail Dara), a dependency of Stormark, as the administrative centre of one of the kingdom's two subdivisions. In 1555 AN, the quasi-independence of Dun Gail Dara was suppressed and the majority of the present-day county became part of the Storish region of Sólareyjar, with the exception of the Antican region of New Brannum in the south. The area remained under Storish rule until the final collapse of that empire in 1685 AN.
The historic country was re-established under the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Riskai, a constituent member of the Three Kingdoms, in 1723 AN.
