The Vegnese Army (Vegnian:"Esercito Vegnese") (EV) is the land component of the Vegnese armed forces, which also includes the Navy, the Air Force and the Gendarmi, all dependent on the Chief of Defense Staff and inserted in the ministry of defence, and above the President of the Republic.

History

The Vegnese Army originated in 1705 AN, which dates from the proclamation of the Republic of Vegno following the declaration of independence and the unification of Vegno.During the first years of the Republic, the Army wasn't one of the priority of the moderates-government, having reduced the money spent for it.

1718 Military reform

The new right-wing government, on the other hand, considered the strengthening of the army one of its priorities, also following its entry into the Raspur Pact. The turning point came in 1718 AN when, after more than a year in office, an important reform of the army was approved which briefly envisaged:

  • Equipment upgrade: upgrading the army's equipment so that soldiers have advanced tools and cutting-edge technology. This includes purchasing new weapons, armored vehicles, drones and advanced sensors for surveillance, in particular from Confederate States Armed Forces, signing an official deal in 1718.
  • Strengthening Communications: the military must be able to communicate quickly and efficiently during operations. This is done through upgrading military communications networks, implementing satellite communications systems, or using technologies such as mesh networks to ensure connectivity in remote areas.
  • Advanced Training: the reform includes advanced training of soldiers so they are able to use new equipment and technologies effectively, updating existing training programmes, implementing new training programmes, and adding specialist skills such as cyber security.
  • Improved Logistics: The military must be able to rapidly deliver the necessary resources and equipment to soldiers during operations, implementing advanced logistics systems, the use of drones for the delivery of materials and the upgrade of transportation systems.
  • Increased Resources: Finally, the reform includes increasing the military's resources so soldiers have access to everything they need to do their jobs effectively and safely. This includes hiring new soldiers, implementing new incentive policies, and ensuring an adequate budget for the military.
