LOCAL JUDICIAL COURTS ACT, 1721

BE IT ENACTED by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Cortes Federales, in this present session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
PART I
GENERAL PROVISIONS.
Article 1: Citation.
- This Act may be cited as the "Local Judicial Courts Act, 1721".
PART II
ESTABLISHMENT OF LOCAL JUDICIAL COURTS
Article 2: Establishment of more Local Judicial Courts.
- Article XII of the Regional and Local Government Organization Act, 1699 is amended by the inclusion of a new Section 9 and new Section 10, to read as follows:
9. The judicial power of government within the legal bounds of a municipality is vested in the Municipal Court, composed of one Presiding Justice, appointed by H.M. the King on recommendation of the Mayor and the practitioners of the legal profession. An additional Municipal Court shall be constituted in the event the population of residents of the municipality exceeds 50,000; that is to say, an additional Municipal Court shall be constituted in the event the population of residents of the municipality exceeds 50,000, and then exceeds 70,000, and then exceeds 90,000, for every additional 20,000 residents thereof.
10. Members of the Municipal Court must be members of the Bar, and have been in the practice of the legal profession for five years prior to appointment. Members of the Municipal Court serve for good behavior until the age of 65 or until their death, resignation, or loss of His Majesty’s confidence.
PART III
CLOSING PROVISIONS.
Article 3: Closing Provisions.
- This act shall apply to all of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie.
- This act shall not become law unless it has been given Royal Assent.
- This act shall be published and made publicly available.
- If any provision of this act, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of the act, and the application of such provision to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected thereby.
