1717 Military Reorganisation in Sankt Ludwigshafen

The 1717 Military Reorganisation in Sankt Ludwigshafen refers to an effort undertaken by Stadtholder Hans Schafenweide to modernise the organisation of the armed forces of the Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen. While the 1716 Sankt Ludwigshafen Restoration saw the first use of armoured vehicles by the Republic's armed forces, the formal organisation of the military only recognised the Dragonerkorps Ludwigshafen and the Kriegskorps Ludwigshafen, two military units that were only integrated insofar as they were commanded by the Stadtholder, and had no official place for armoured vehicles, but instead relied on set numbers of donkeys.
