Natopia Planitia Orbital Shipyards is the primary fleet construction facility of the Natopian Spacefleet, operational since before 1674 AN.
Each drydock in Natopia Planitia is equipped with a fleet of worker shuttles and utilizes construction arms for moving material into place and securing components together.
NDF-Spacefleet operates 10 drydocks of identical size, capable of constructing the large and Io classes. Independent components of the Empire class carriers are constructed in several drydocks simultaneously and assembled in space.
The spinning of the station generates artificial gravity, equal to about that of Tarsica's gravity. This permits NDF and Spacefleet personnel deployed from Micras a chance to climatize to a low gravity environment before their operational cycle on the New Lindstrom Colony commenced. As such the Planitia facility serves as a transit hub as well as a manufacturing site.
