Young Socialists of Nouvelle Alexandrie is a political youth organisation in Nouvelle Alexandrie for those aged between 12 to 24. It was founded on 12.VIII.1680 AN as Young Socialists of Alduria before branching out across Nouvelle Alexandrie following the Proclamation of Punta Santiago. The organisation is not officially affiliated with any political party.
History
Young Socialists of Nouvelle Alexandrie was originally founded as Young Socialists of Alduria on 12.VIII.1680 AN. In its founding statement, the organisation said “The role of Young Socialists of Alduria is to represent the voice of young people across the nation to demand a fair and more equal future for our generation and those that follow”. Etelvina Bustillo, one of the founding members of the organisation, was elected as the inaugural chairperson. The organisation quickly grew across Alduria, amassing up to 1,250 members by the end of the year.
During the 1682 AN election, Young Socialists endorsed and campaigned for Marco Zimmer’s Democratic Socialist Party. Young Socialists were seen by many as pivotal to the DSP’s success at the election, becoming the largest party, with Young Socialists at the heart of the grassroots movement supporting the party.
Following the election, Young Socialists called on all parties to “do the right thing” and “support the ambitious agenda put forward by the Zimmer government” which proposed mass reforms to health care and education in Alduria.
Following the Assassination of Marco Zimmer, the 1685 Aldurian coup d'état and the resulting Proclamation of Punta Santiago forming Nouvelle Alexandrie, the Young Socialists decided to expand the organisation across the rest of Nouvelle Alexandrie to further support left-wing causes and voice of young people across the nation, thus becoming the Young Socialists of Nouvelle Alexandrie as they are known now.
