THRONE SPEECH DEBATE STARTS IN FEDERAL ASSEMBLY
Party Leaders debate Seydlitz agendaCárdenas, FCD -- Legislators return to the Federal Assembly today to debate yesterday’s Throne Speech.
Robert Beaujolais, the Leader of the Opposition, will deliver the Social Democratic and Liberal Alliance Reply to the Throne Speech and the debate is expected to go on much of the day.
The session is also considering the election of the next Speaker of the Federal Assembly, with the previous Speaker, Consuelo Moscoso, serving as Temporary Speaker.
The Federal Assembly gallery has just opened in time for the start of the second session. The debates are open by the public during normal business hours, but remain open after only in the case of extraordinary or late night sessions.
During the debate, there was a noted performance by Premier Seydlitz, whose passionate reply to Beaujolais defended his agenda and earned him much praise and activity in social media. #SeydlitzPower has started trending in New Alexandria social media, especially in Tweeter.
