The People's Republic of Graecia is a Communist Micronation founded on 11/6/2020 by Eugene Friedriechsen, a new micronationalist. It claims Graecia Island (former Taeland), and a landmass in the planet Argon dubbed the Dervenian Autonomous People's Republic. The Micras claim cannot be recognised, because the nation is not 30 days old.
Etymology
The prefix People's republic is commonly used by socialist states. It symbolises that the republic "had been created by the people and for the people" (althrough rarely a People's republic works as a republic, in contrast to it's name). Graecia is an annagramatism of Greece, where Eugene Friedriechsen is from. It also can be interpreted as an annagramatism of grace. The digraph ae was also used in the island's former name, Taeland, so this symbolises the continuity of communism in the island and the two states.
History
Eugene Friedriechsen showed his first interests for micronationalism when he accidentally visited the Wikipedia article about Sealand. Then, after a few days of search, he found Microwiki (not to be confused with Micraswiki, this site), considered by some the main micronational hub. Althrough all seemed interesting in the start, Eugene found about the Micras Sector, and how much it was considered "simulationist" by the Microwiki Sector. He decided that Micras seemed more attractive, and he joined the community on 6/5/2020. After some thought, Eugene Friedriechsen decided that it would be better if the micronation he founded was Communist. Deciding the name and the rest, he went on to search some land to claim. Planning for Graecia started (and the nation was founded) before the expulsion of Stormark, a nation holding a great deal of land. So, this meant that were only a few parts of land free. However, Graecia's future position was settled in Graecia Island (former Taeland), an island unclaimed for some time. The People's Republic of Graecia's First State was founded on 11/6/2020
Foundation and Reforms
The first 2-3 days of the nation were going as intended; the Discord server for the natio was fully set up, and most of the insignia and info of the state were designed. However, things soon changed; As Eugene Friedriechsen did not made something interesting to work with his nation's members, activity started to be non-excsistent. As such, the nation was made no more viable. So, the Refors got National Reorganisation (known also as the Twenty-three of june reforms, or as The dissolution of the First State) were put in place. Most notably, the rulling party, the Communist Party of Graecia, was dissoluted, and the ideology changed from Marxism-Lenninism to Graecian Marxism. In theese reforms, Eugene Friedriechsen collected more power in his hands, and, althrough theese reforms literally saved the nation, some could say that theese reforms were a "self-coup"
Second State
After the reforms, the Second State was formed, the nation's current era. It could be said that now the nation is more organised; especially in the foreign relations. However, it is still an obscure, unrecognised nation. Inside the nation, activity is still literraly non-excsistent. This is a problem that does not distract the nation (as more power is now vested on the hands of the Premier), however, Graecia will maybe encounter diffuculties on getting it's claims accepted.
