Central Naval Initiative

The Central Naval Initiative was a plan by the Union Australis to shift the naval centre of the Northern Fleet of the Great Southern Armada from Porto Vormouna to a series of four mobile command bases in the centre of the sea between Tapfer, Apollonia, and Eura. The plan would leave Porto Vormoouna with a few small corvettes and patrol boats for security, but most naval assets would be relocated to the sea. The mobile command ships would allow the large naval ships to dock and receive maintenance. The eventual goal was to have four mobile command bases in this sea, which would circle around the centre of the sea to allow the naval assets of the fleet to deploy quickly (it should be noted that this circling would not be a patrol, with the bases themselves circling the sea). Transfer to these new bases would be gradual, with the mobile command base Nord (which was already built before the initiative began) beginning movement immediately with its maximum load of naval ships.
