Milk Tea is a Constancian delicacy known primarily in Aqaba.

History

Milk Tea has its origins in the confectioner's shop known as Shay's.

During the crisis year of 1666, a particularly-busy serving girl made the mistake of pouring milk into a silver pitcher of tea, and compounded the error by refrigerating it. Upon serving it to Shay, the proprietor, later on, the confectioner liked it so much that the offending servant was retained instead of being sacked for sheer incompetence, and Shay's had the product that put it on the map in the busy port city.

Preparation

Canon recipes from Shay's are a trade secret, so there have been many variations. Nivardom recipes add certain toppings, such as cold cream and chilled fruit slices.
