Mukhabarat, a term, pejorative in its use, derived from the Arboric/Baatharzi word Mukhābarāt ("intelligence"), commonly used in the press of Hurmu during the Barikalus–Hurmu war to denote saboteurs, spies, and terrorists originating from any of the factions of Arbor involved in the Arboric Civil War. The Mukhabarat, both real and perceived, would become deeply infamous following the 1704 Hurmudan attempted coup d'état. Hurmudan coverage of the Great Vanic Revolt periodically implicates the Mukhabarat of an unspecified country as being the enablers and facilitators of Freyja's Battlers and other such Forsaken groupings amongst the Vanafolk. On occasion these claims are subsequently repeated in news coverage provided by New Alexandrian sources.
