It was founded in 1647 AN in Northcliff Central Park and has expanded to include more than 584 major buildings including Northcliff Stadium, the largest stadium on Micras. The university is a founding member of the National Collegiate Athletic Federation.

Northcliff's athletic teams compete in the FLO-12 Conference of the NCAF and are collectively known as the Cowboys. Many athlete graduates of the university now participate in major sports leagues such as the FFL and SLB.
