The Darwin Research Station was an Amokolian scientific polar research station.
History
The research station was erroneously displayed on the MCS Political Map for a long time, while the station was built on permanent ice, not on physical land. In 1673 AN Amokolia reopened the research station for strictly secret research.
In 1678 the research station was targeted during the first weeks of the Second Amokolian War by a long-range strike force operating from New Blackstone - the attack caused extensive damage and caused untold disruption to the experiments being carried out on the site. Amongst the objectives of the raiding party had been the capture of scientists and the recovery of samples from the facility - although in view of the scale of the destruction caused by the detonation of an S-2 missile warhead over the primary structure of the Research Station it is unclear how successful the attacking force was in attaining this objective.
