The Federal Geological Service, known for its acronym "FGS", is a scientific agency of the federal government of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. Founded in 1686 AN as the National Geological Survey Agency, the agency was reorganized into its current form in 1701 AN after the 1701 eruption of Mount Broadshaw. The FGS is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Interior.

The scientists of the Federal Geological Service study the lands of Nouvelle Alexandrie, including its natural resources, features, and natural hazards. Its work is mainly in research and scientific fact-finding and not in any regulatory capacity. It employs approximately 2,344 people and is headquartered in Cardenas. The FGS also has major offices in New Luthoria, Alduria, Santander, and the Wechua Nation.
