Noursala (Commonspeak: Nörsale) is the capital and largest city within Aerla. It is the nation's most populous city, with around 338,000 inhabitants. The city is home to the seat of the National Assembly and the President. The city is located along the eastern end of a lake that shares the city's name.
The city is regarded as Aerla's transportation hub, containing the nation's only international airport, Noursala International Airport. The city also serves as the center of Aerla's economy and industry, serving as host to the
History
The area around Lake Noursala has been inhabited since the first people's settled in the valleys of Aerla. The first recorded settlement was a Karnali temple named Ṭhūlōpahāḍa (lit. "Great Hill"). The temple remained in operation until it's destruction by a Hatayyian army in the early 1500s AN. With the Lake Noursala watershed being incorporated into the Shahdad Region, settlers began to construct a new settlement from the ruins of the old temple. These settlers named their village Ṣalāḥ ad-Nour, meaning "Righteous of the Light" (this name would eventually be shortened into Noursalah, leading the the modern spelling of the name .)
During the founding of the Aerla, it was decided by the new government to make Noursala the new nation's capital. This came after a debate whether or not Noursala or Agalore should become the government's new home. Noursala was decided as it was larger and more geographically centered then Agalore.
Bureaus
The city is divided into 8 main bureaus, which are used for local government and zoning purposes
