The Prime Minister of Batavia is the head of the Batavian Government. Previously the leader of the largest party in the Lagerhuis became prime minister, nowadays the prime minister is directly elected. The prime minister is the cabinet with ministers. A majority is usually sought in the Lagerhuis, despite the fact that under the current constitution there is more separation between the legal power (Lagerhuis) and executive power (government).
The current prime minister is Paulus de Withe (Radicalen) who succeeded Jacques Montrarde in 1684.
