The 1724 Normark coup d'état was an attempted mutiny by officers of the Elian Militia opposed to Humanist rule in Normark. Having set 12.IV.1724 AN as the date for their rising, the conspirators were able to rally three quarters of the personnel at Martyr Elijah Cadet College and within Regional Security Command Normark to their cause.
The mutineers were quickly able to secure the advantage of surprise by taking Elias Einhorn, Commandant-in-Chief of the Elian Militia, prisoner in his office.
In spite of the best efforts of the conspirators, the plot had been penetrated by the General Inspectorate of Keltia, and in consequence, reliable Landgendarmerie and Nordhær units had been placed at key sites and intersections in Elijah's Rest ahead of the rising.
Ignominiously, Fredrik Michael Tarjeisson, was prevailed upon by his courtiers to flee the city before even the first shot had been fired.
