The Freestate of Ghent (Vrijstaat Gent) was a province of the Virtual United Provinces. It was founded somewhere between 14 and 20 January 2007. On 24 January 2007 it ratified the Union of Utrecht 2007, forming the United Provinces with the Freestate of Antwerp.
Legislative power was vested in the People's House (Volkshuis). The entire provincial population was member of the People's House. The Eksee was the executive.
Ghent had a vibrant culture and lots of parties. Its culture was more or less leftist in nature. Ghent was also the first province with an active economy.
