Noursala (Commonspeak: Nörsale) is the capital and largest city within Aerla. It is the nation's most populous city, with around 338,000 inhabitants. The city is home to the seat of the National Assembly and the President. The city is located along the eastern end of a lake that shares the city's name.

The city is regarded as Aerla's transportation hub, containing the nation's only international airport, Noursala International Airport. The city also serves as the center of Aerla's economy and industry, serving as host to the

History

The area around Lake Noursala has been inhabited since the first people's settled in the valleys of Aerla. The modern incarnation of the city came as a village during the Hatayan era named Salah ad-Nor ('Righteous of the Light'), where it was a small fishing community. The village continued to be an important center of commerce of the area even after the collapse of Hatay. After the state's collapse, the village steadily grew as many displaced peoples entered the region following the collapse of states such as Anterreich-Launderschnel, Normark, and Hamland/Caputia. This led to a very diverse urban area with many different languages and cultures.

During the founding of the nation, the city was declared to be the nation's capital, as it was seen to be the most centrally located city of appropriate size to host the nation's government. The development of industry soon began, with most being concentrated in the "Steam City" bureau.
