Elonzo XII is the self-styled monarch of the unrecognised Kingdom of Monovia, which considers itself a successor state to the historic Kingdom of Monovia in Southern Cibola. Elonzo claims to be a descendant of Elonzo I of the aforementioned kingdom, but has thus far not been able to substantiate this claim. In his endeavour to restore his kingdom, Elonzo has waged war against the government of Zandarijn and Sankt Ludwigshafen. For a long time, it was uncertain whether he was the leader of the Monovian militants that accomplished the Sack of Hamstadt or if he only had a minor role in the affairs. During the Ludwiggian-Monovian War Elonzo XII was finally defeated by Ludwiggian forces, and apprehended by the Dragonerkorps Ludwigshafen when he tried to flee his stronghold. Elonzo was rehabilitated by the Ludwiggian government after the war, and his hometown was named after him when he died a few months after the war.
