The Iron Fleet ([[Calbic: Fflyd Haearn) is the main component of the Calbain Navy, or the Llynges Calbain. Originally a private naval force, the fleet was put under the Calbain navy in 1688.

History

The Iron Fleet was founded as a private navy in 1638 as the fleet of the Iron Company. The Iron Fleet served as the naval forces of Gran Verionia, Los Liberados (where it was partially nationalised) and Kasterburg. During the government of Prime Minister Mackay, the Iron Fleet was also functioning as the navy of Batavia. After the Verionian-Raspur war, much of the Verionian grip on Micras unraveled. In the turmoil that followed, a significant number of ships were lost or deliberately destroyed.

Following 1689, the Calbain shipyards have steadily been working to replace some of the older and outdated ships.
