Gerenian Women's Ice Hockey League (Gerenian: Leran Hokyŷeles Elskaies Gherenies) is a semi-professional ice hockey league composed of six teams in Gerenia. It is run by the SHŶG (Gerenian Ice Hockey Association).
History
The League was founded in 2018 to include women in national ice hockey competitions, shortly after the national team was created.
Format
The season runs parallel to the men's Hockey League, but lasts from September to March of the following year. Games are usually played on Saturday or Sunday. Teams play each of their eight opponents in the league four times for a total of 20 regular season games.
The four best teams qualify for the playoffs, which consist on a two-legged semi-final (1st v 4th, 2nd v 3rd), and a single-game final held in a neutral venue.
