The Harvest of Souls refers to the forced deportation of 70,000 Zeedic nationals, aged seventeen to twenty-five, all of Ruthenian ancestry, between the years of 1701 AN and 1702 AN. The deportations had begun immediately upon the conclusion of the armistice, and appeared to have been conducted upon the authority of the N&H Future Leadership Programme with the support of the 1st Vanguard Division.
The fate of the deported was deemed to be an internal Party matter outside the remit of the occupation government or the Trans-Euran Command of the Raspur Pact. Conjecture on the part of dissidents associated with the Azad Eura resistance movement has been that the deportees were utilised to replenish the Modanese diaspora, but with access to New Drakorda all but impossible for those without the requisite clearances this remains, as of 1717 AN, all but impossible to verify.
