Liberation Derby

The Liberation Derby, commencing from the duodecimal year of 2022, is a footballing competition between the Unified Governorates national football team and the United Isles national football team, which coincides with the anniversary of the reoccupation of the Florencia, the Iridian Isles, and the Kingdom of Naudia'Diva by the Black Legions. The competition thereby plays a role in the restoration of harmonious relations by celebrating the liberation of the islands from onerous burdens of self-rule through recasting the brief conflict as an amicable sporting rivalry which affords both parties the opportunity to showcase their native talent and feel legitimate pride.
