Aqaba General Hospital is the first and oldest civilian hospital in Aqaba, Aqabah. It is a 500-bed facility and is arguably one of the most modern medical facitilies in the Imperial State of Constancia.
History
Aqaba General Hospital began as a military dispensary for deployed armed forces personnel involved in Operation Debellatio. In late III.1656, Antistrategos (Lieutenant General) Demetrios Thesalonikis, Military Governor of Aqaba, issued a decree providing for the establishment of a civilian hospital to serve the needs of the residents. It was originally funded by whatever resources the Military Governor could provide, but was soon sustained via donations from prominent notables, donations from the general public, fees charged by the hospital, and soon with Imperial Government funding via the Ministry of Health and Ministry for Aqabah.
